About the Presenters:

LISA LAWLER – The White-Collar Wives Project

Lisa Lawler founded The White-Collar Wives Project in September of 2014. She has mentored over a hundred white-collar wives through what she calls “the white-collar crime machine” helping them navigate the dire legal, economic, and social impact families experience over the course of a white-collar criminal investigation, prosecution, and sentencing of a spouse/father. Lisa says, “As a former white-collar wife, I have created a safe space where innocent spouses can gain legal information, direction, and shelter from the storm.”  She believes that families are the first victims of occupational crime because despite having no knowledge of, nor implication of a spouse’s criminal activity, innocent spouses and children are subjected to ruinous punitive damages through civil asset seizure for restitution which wipes out the entire marital estate.

Lisa’s groundbreaking work has placed her on a short list of emerging thought leaders working on the front lines of occupational crime deterrence who are introducing real life consequences into compliance programming.   She says, “Corporations provide workers with compliance mandates. My job is to give employees good reason to comply.”  Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, The American Bar Association, The ACFE, and other esteemed entities.
