Associated with  Kansas City Chapter

Leah Sand, Director, Content Systems,at VMLY&R will be our guest speaker in Kim Church’s class at UMKC. Leah’s topic, "The Future is Conversational".

Technology is supposed to make communication simpler, but we've all had frustrating encounters with technology and every few months there's inevitably a new video of some guy punching his computer out of anger, or a meme about "tech rage." It makes sense, though – we’re having to communicate with technology on its own terms, and things get lost in translation. When we talk with others, we expect a natural give-and-take, context with the information we’re given, and an organic, human back and forth. Of course, our customers expect the same of technology, and us. So then, how do we make technology more human?

Enter conversational AI.

In this talk we’ll step through how we use emerging technology to have better, more intelligent conversation with humans. Spoiler alert: it has nothing to do with “designs” or “frameworks” and everything to do with human-first approach, built around the experience of a natural conversation.
